Your license to use Kachunk

Kachunk is free to download and use. We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to install and use the app on Macs that you own or control. You may not reverse engineer, decompile, or modify the app except where applicable law permits, and you may not redistribute or resell the app itself.

The complete sound pack

The complete sound pack is a one-time purchase — no subscription, no recurring charges. It unlocks all current sound packs and every pack we add in future versions of the app.

Purchases are processed by Polar, who act as the merchant of record: the sale is made by Polar, who handle payment, taxes, receipts, and license key delivery. Your transaction is also subject to Polar's terms of service. Prices are shown at checkout and may change over time; a price change never affects a purchase you've already made.

What your key covers

Your license key is a personal license: it activates the complete pack on every Mac you personally own or control, now and in the future. It's yours — so please don't share it publicly, resell it, or use it to activate machines for other people. We may deactivate keys that are leaked, resold, or obtained fraudulently.

14-day money-back guarantee

If the complete pack isn't for you, email support@getkachunk.com within 14 days of purchase and we'll refund you in full, no questions asked. Refunds are issued through Polar to your original payment method and can take a few business days to appear. After a refund, your license key is deactivated.

Who owns what

The Kachunk app, this website, the Kachunk name and icon, and the typewriter sound recordings (Underwood 1938, Olivetti Portable) are the property of Trifecta Labs, LLC. The mechanical switch recordings are © Thomas Lai (kbsim), used under the MIT License — full details on the licenses page.

The sound recordings are licensed for use within Kachunk. You may not extract, redistribute, or resell them as standalone audio, sample packs, or as part of another product.

Don't break things

You agree not to use the app or website in any way that violates applicable law, to attempt to circumvent license validation, or to interfere with the operation of the website or our payment provider.

Provided "as is"

Kachunk is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We don't guarantee the app will be error-free or uninterrupted, or that it will be compatible with every future version of macOS — though we do our best.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Trifecta Labs, LLC will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app or website. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose — which, for the free app, is nothing, and for the complete pack is $4.99. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law, and nothing affects your statutory rights as a consumer.

Changes to the app and these terms

We may update the app, add or adjust sound packs, and revise these terms from time to time. When the terms change we'll update this page and the effective date above. Continuing to use Kachunk after a change means you accept the updated terms; if you don't, stop using the app and — within the refund window — ask for your money back.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the state in which Trifecta Labs, LLC is organized, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. If any provision of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest remain in effect.
